Biographie
(FR) Le projet solo de David Lombard repose principalement sur des mélodies de guitare en finger-picking et sur une voix expressive « dont le timbre versatile rappelle un certain Don McLean » (Bernard Dagnies, Musiczine [FRBE]), une combinaison caractéristique du « folk-rock brut et honnête dont on ne se lasse jamais » (Tom Haugen, Take Effect [US]). Inspiré par la musique d'auteur-compositeurs américains tels que Jason Isbell, Joe Pug, Bruce Springsteen et Tom Petty autant que par des poètes tels qu'Henry D. Thoreau et Walt Whitman, il a joué sur les planches belges seul depuis 2012 et accompagné d'un orchestre depuis 2018.
David a sorti son premier EP « fait maison » en 2015, suivi de son album bien accueilli par les critiques « Looking for a Dream » en 2019, qui fut notamment distribué par les labels indépendants Homerecords (CD) et Freaksville (streaming), et édité par le label JauneOrange. « Looking for a Dream » est un album concept comprenant des versions acoustiques ainsi qu'électriques (avec un orchestre) de chansons intenses et exaltantes « qui éloignent vos peurs et doutes pour les remplacer par la confiance et l'optimise d'un grand rêveur » (Tom Hilton, Aldora Britain Records [UK]). En 2021, David a sorti un EP en version digitale constitué des titres non repris sur l'album « Looking for a Dream ». Il travaille actuellement sur un nouvel opus.

Inspired by the music of the likes of Jason Isbell, Joe Pug, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Petty as well as by the poetry of, for example, Henry D. Thoreau and Walt Whitman, he has been performing his heartfelt but humble songs alone throughout Belgium since 2012, and accompanied by a band since 2018.
David released his first home-made EP in 2015, which was followed by his well-received debut album «Looking for a Dream» in 2019, distributed and promoted by the independent record labels Homerecords (CD), Freaksville Publishing (digital), and JauneOrange (publishing). «Looking for a Dream» is a concept album featuring solo acoustic as well as electric (with a full band) versions of mid-tempo intense and uplifting «tracks that drive out your fears and doubts, and replace them with a dreamer's confidence and belief» (Tom Hilton, Aldora Britain Records [UK]). In 2021, David released a digital five-track EP consisting of the outtakes of his first album, titled the «Looking for a Dream Outtakes.» He is now currently working on new materials.
