Barbara Wiernik “Between Whispers”
Between Whispers is a contemporary vocal jazz project where voices seek each other out, brush up against each other, meet.
Solo and collective voices respond to each other, improvising and breathing together. Each piece is an organic conversation, an exploration of vocal textures and shared vibrations.
The singers are accompanied by remarkable instrumentalists, partners in a free, sensitive and lively dialogue. Together, they create ever-changing soundscapes.
This project was born of Barbara Wiernik's artistic research, conducted as part of a doctorate devoted to contemporary vocal jazz in Europe. In the course of this adventure, she forged deep human and musical bonds with singers from all over Europe.
The result of this research is an album to be released in early 2026 on the Igloo Records label, featuring :
