Thantifaxath

Thantifaxath were formed in Toronto, Ontario, at the turn of the twenty-tens.
The band signed to Dark Descent Records for the release of their eponymous debut EP in 2011 and the pact endures to this day. The release was followed by first full-length Sacred White Noise (2014), EP Void Masquerading as Matter (2017), and second album Hive Mind Narcosis (2023).
Thantifaxath are a group draped in obscurity, with an entirely anonymous line-up and a band name originating from the Kabbalistic Tree of Life (meaning Great Ghoul).
Instead of elaborating further, the band prefers to let the music do the talking.
Dubbed avant-garde black metal by some, Thantifaxath surpass such mundane press-tags, instead conjuring forth an expansive, discordant, and mind-altering brew that’s never just black, thrash, death, or doom metal psychedelia, but truly pushes the boundaries of metal as we know it.
Despite their secretive practices, Thantifaxath are no strangers to the road, following a tireless touring schedule since their formation. On top of eight North American and one European tour, the band’s mind-altering rituals have earned them performances at such high-profile events as the Maryland Deathfest, Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest, Northwest Terror Fest, Mass Destruction Metal Fest, Covenant Fest, Peace Simulation, Messe Des Morts, and Martyrdoom, among many others.
As we know, there be no rest for the wicked, and Thantifaxath are to tour extensively in support of Hive Mind Narcosis in 2023 and beyond…
