MoldEra

MoldEra is a symbiotic organism which came into existence around 2018 through the fortunate meeting of four anthropomorphic mold spores settling in the post-industrial wastelands of Liège. With a common interest in various forms of heavy, slow, deep and hypnotic sounds while foraging in stoner or progressive rock meadows, as well as doom and sludge marshes, they processed their first experiments through the lockdown time and fructified with their debut album "Waste Pile Dunes", in 2022. After two years defending it on stage, while progressively incorporating new sounds explored throughout their journey, a second album "Colonize" was extracted from their metalliferous soil and recorded in 2024.

MoldEra explores themes of industrialized human predation and exploitation of nature, ecological disasters, land degradation and social unrest, conveying a sense of worrying about the evolution of the world which foreshadows a bleak future. “Colonize” tries to capture the essence of human society's moral decay while celebrating the resilience of life, thriving in the ruins of late capitalism.
