Biographie
SH Group is a jazz quintet based in Brussels, Belgium. It has focused on the production of beautiful and simple music that draws its inspiration from various genres such as rock, jazz and pop. The band emphasizes the vibration of sounds and the attitude displayed during performance. The objective is to create a feeling of openness, sharing and community, free from intellectualism or rigid traditions.
SH group is made up of a group of friends passionate about playing music together.
In the spring of 2019, SH Group had the opportunity to highlight its talents when it played as an opening band to the Pierre Durand « Roots » Quartet during a regional tour in Burgundy Franche-Comté, France. Since then, the group has played regularly in France, Belgium and beyond.
Their first recording, “SH Group EP”, was released on March 12, 2020. SH Group includes Vlad Tolordava with the trumpet, Jonas Le Roy on saxophone, Matteo Di Leonardo on guitar, Niklas von Werne on drums and Sébastien Hugue on the double bass and he provides the compositions.
The group recorded an album in April 2024 featuring Pierre-Antoine Savoyat on trumpet and the Iguaran String Quartet. Album released on 02/20/2026
The purpose of this album called “Playing for change” is to highlight Sébastien’s vision of life and values, commitment in living challenging days and emotional recollections from a poetic point of view.
It underlines a “ideal voyage” that heads towards caring, sharing and understanding life and the others.
